JOB DESCRIPTION
• Managing and monitoring carbon offset projects with the relevant carbon registries (such as Verra) including:
++ Mastering the different ag methodologies and processes to issue carbon offset certifications in agriculture
++ Estimating the potential of emissions reduction and carbon sequestration for a given ag project based on farming practices and scientific literature
++ Collecting, organizing and analyzing the data from farmers in collaboration with local Rivulis teams and contractors
++ Writing and submitting Project Documents (PDs) as per the methodologies developed by the main carbon registries (e.g. Verra)
++ Presenting our projects to independent auditors and follow up on their comments
• The job is a full-time job located in Kfar Saba (Rivulis Global HQ) and can be partially remote.
• You will report to Jonathan Baravir, Rivulis Climate Director.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Must Have
• Scientific background - MSc/PhD graduates in soil science, agronomy, or bio-geo-chemistry
• Excellent English reading, writing and speaking - able to read and write research papers in English
• Entrepreneurial and pragmatic mindset – we will be building a solution while learning about it
• Ability to structure, organize and analyze large amount of variable field data
• Great interpersonal skills to interact with different people from different backgrounds (farmers from different countries, auditors, our Israeli and international Rivulis teams, etc.)
Good To Have
• Understanding of bio-geo-chemical mechanisms of agricultural carbon emissions
• Experience in agriculture
• Self-motivated about sustainability and farming
• Knowledge of the carbon offset process and regulations (registries, PDs, VVBs, etc.)
